There is an exhibit in Saskatoon right now, which is traveling the country highlighting the impacts of the pandemic in residential care homes, and remembering the thousands of residents and workers who died of COVID-19 or suffered through extended periods of stress and isolation. The exhibit created by Megan Davies is called Covid in the House of Old and it features stories from Elders.

The USask-led Remember Rebuild Saskatchewan project is looking at the wider impacts of COVID and how to build back. It has added a Saskatchewan addition to the show. USask’s Dr. Erika Dyck, who is the Canada Research Chair in the History of Medicine says, “Residents in long-term care facilities faced some of the most extreme responses, from lockdowns and restrictions to isolation from family and friends, and we wanted to help raise some of the concerns from people in these facilities that arose.” The exhibit is at Cliff Wright Library through this Saturday.
