Southey RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 6 last Thursday afternoon. From the preliminary investigation, RCMP say a northbound SUV collided with a southbound semi. There were two people in the SUV.

A 77-year-old woman from George Gordon First Nation who was driving the SUV was declared dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Southey RCMP continue to investigate with aid from a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
