A man from Calder, Saskatchewan has been arrested and is accused in the death of a man from the Esterhazy area. Saskatchewan RCMP have charged 48-year-old Curtis Sokoloski with one count of second-degree murder and one count of committing an indignity to a body.
Sixty-one-year-old Bentley Baumung was found dead in a home on Sunday. On June 18 Esterhazy RCMP received a request to conduct a wellness check on an adult male at a rural residence in the northeast of their detachment area.
RCMP said they don’t believe his death is connected to the recent homicide in the Stockholm/Esterhazy area in February.
Sokolski will appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Tuesday.
