An extreme cold alert is in effect for the southeast portion of the province starting just east of Saskatoon around Humboldt. It stretches to the east through to Kamsack and south along the Manitoba boundary, as well as in northern Saskatchewan.

While Saskatoon is not under an extreme cold warning, temperatures have been pushing near -30 since overnight and wind chills have dipped close to -40 although they will moderate today.
