More than eight months after a two-vehicle collision that claimed the lives of two people at Diefenbaker Drive and 22nd Street West, a 28-year-old man will face multiple charges.

The Saskatoon Police Service says he will appear in Provincial Court on June 27, charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and two counts of criminal negligence causing death. The collision occurred at about 10:40 p.m. on October 7 of last year and involved a Jeep Compass and a Peterbilt Power Unit with two loaded trailers.

A 59-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman from the SUV died in hospital while the truck driver who faces charges was not injured.
