Regina Police are investigating an incident that includes a stabbing, a vehicle running over the victim, and police firing their weapons at the suspect.

Around 5:00 am on Saturday morning in Regina, near the intersection of Victoria and St, John Street, police responded to a report of a woman injured on the street.

Fifty-four-year-old Tony Hudson is facing five charges including two counts of attempted murder and is in Regina Provincial Court today.

Police say when they arrived on scene Saturday they found a woman on the street with stab wounds. It was around this time police located the suspect in a truck, parked nearby. When they approached the truck, it raced backwards at a high rate of speed and ran over the victim. officers ordered the driver out of the vehicle, but the suspect refused again, driving forward towards the officers and the victim and in an effort to stop the vehicle they fired at the truck.

No one was injured in the gunfire but the truck didn’t stop, running over the victim a second time and taking off from the area. She was taken to hospital by EMS.

Police followed the vehicle to a rural area north-east of the city, where the suspect was arrested.
