A 34-year-old Saskatoon man was arrested and charged with break and enter after he broke into a locked compound just after midnight early Monday morning.

Saskatoon Police Service patrol and canine officers responded to the compound in the 100 block of English Crescent, where staff saw an individual trying to steal a vehicle on live security cameras. When officers arrived on the scene, the man attempted to flee by climbing a fence, but was quickly apprehended with the help of the Police Service Dog. Because of canine contact, the man sustained a minor injury which was treated by paramedics at the scene before he was taken to S-P-S detention.
