Highway 16 is presently closed off in both directions just west of Plunkett due to a serious two-vehicle collision involving a cargo van and semi-truck.

Saskatoon R-C-M-P have responded and are investigating with the assistance of a Saskatchewan R-C-M-P Collision Reconstructionist, STARS, Watrous and Lanigan E-M-S along with Viscount Fire and Rescue. A caller to the CJWW newsroom said the collision occurred around the Noon hour, about 12 kilometres west of Plunkett, with one of the vehicles in flames. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and to follow traffic restrictions in the area about 100 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
