It is difficult to pinpoint where the worst drought locations are in the province because rainfall variability means some are in west-central, south-west and central regions.
Ray Orb is the President of the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities. He says four RM’s have confirmed passing disaster resolutions, including Dundurn south of Saskatoon. The others are Excelsior, Old Post and Arlington. Orb and other SARM executive plan to tour some of the worst regions in the Shaunavon area next week.
The Saskatchewan Stockgrowers Association submitted an “enhanced drought-survival proposal” to the federal and provincial governments this week, which includes a recommendation for an immediate AgriRecovery assessment.
