From April to July, Kindersley RCMP responded to seven calls involving suspected fentanyl, with three men succumbing to fatal overdoses on May 14th, July 4th and July 12th. With the other four calls, naloxone was administered and two males and a female were resuscitated. Saskatchewan RCMP advise that fentanyl is a very potent opioid pain reliever and it is sometimes mixed with other street drugs. Because of this, the advice is to never use alone, let someone you trust know your plans to use, carry a Naloxone kit with you, and call 911 if you suspect and overdose is occurring.
