Officers from the Saskatoon Police Service Interpersonal Violence Section have charged a Saskatoon man with sexual assault and assault with a weapon, in connection to an investigation into alleged historical assaults with faith-based affiliations.
On social media, one of the former students of Legacy Christian Academy, formerly Christian Centre Academy, identified the 74 year old as a former school director and vice-principal. He is named in a $25-million class action lawsuit, which has yet to be certified.
About 130 students have submitted their claims in this lawsuit against Mile Two Church, which runs the school. The students allege physical and sexual abuse. The 74 year old will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on August 21st.
