With just a few days left, the The World Meteorological Organization expects July will be the hottest month ever recorded. A news release from the WMP says the first three weeks have been the warmest three-week period on record and the month is on track to be the hottest July and the hottest month on record.
Much of the U.S. northeast is facing temperatures today (Fri) and tomorrow that will feel like 40 degrees Celsius or higher. There have been heatwaves in North America, Asia and Europe and wildfires, including in Canada and Greece, having major impacts on health, the environment and economies.
