The importance of working windshield wipers was underlined following a vehicle/pedestrian collision in Regina on Monday evening.
Police in the Queen City say two women suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle on College Avenue and Cornwall Street around 9pm.
The Regina Police investigation determined a 20-year old man was driving in the rain without functioning windshield wipers. It is believed he drove through a red light and hit the two crossing pedestrians.
The driver remained at the scene of the accident. Matthew Nimchuk of Regina is charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
