Beware yet another scam. SaskPower says customers are getting phone calls saying they can have a smart meter for 9-hundred dollars. The scammer also provides a callback number that takes callers to a menu that sounds like SaskPower’s.

SaskPower says this is not a legitimate call and you shouldn’t provide any payment information nor call them back.

SaskPower is installing 20-thousand smart meters at businesses in Saskatchewan but they are free of charge to customers. Anyone who is going to receive a meter would have also received a letter, a message on their bill and a phone call from SaskPower.
