Another person has died as a result of the second aircraft crash to happen in Alberta this summer.
On Friday at 9:10 p.m., Tofield RCMP was notified of an overdue aircraft, containing two people, which was believed to have crashed into Beaverhill Lake. The plane was located just after midnight on Saturday, about 200 meters offshore in the northwest portion of the lake. Unfortunately, one occupant of the plane was located deceased and the other was seriously injured. Both occupants were removed from the cockpit and the injured was airlifted by STARS to an Edmonton Hospital.
The investigation into the cause of this crash is being investigated by the Transportation Safety Board.
The last incident occurred in late July when six people died after their aircraft coming from Rocky View County in Alberta crashed before arriving at its destination in Salmon Arm, B.C.
