Battlefords RCMP responded to a report of an assault on Tuesday evening around 11 in the 1100 block of 102nd Street in North Battleford where a man was treated on site for minor injuries. About 13 hours later, police were told of a man’s body in a vacant house about three blocks away from that address and it was confirmed to be 37-year-old James Barbaric from North Battleford, who was the victim of the assault the night before.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is asking anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of 1402 102nd Street North in North Battleford between 10pm on the 15th and 1pm the 16th to contact the police. Investigators are also looking for any security video footage from that area.
