As the summer flies by, so are drivers going down the highway.
SGI says July saw this year’s highest total to date of speeding tickets issued in a month.
Saskatchewan law enforcement ticketed 5,370 drivers in July for speeding or aggressive driving offences, which was the highest total in that category for the year.
In addition to speeding there were 468 impaired driving offences; 464 seatbelt-related tickets; and 739 tickets for distracted driving offences, including 621 drivers ticketed for using a cellphone while driving.
