The Saskatoon Blades will close out August by registering 68 players for training camp a week from Friday, then they’ll start September on the ice at SaskTel Centre.
The 68 players will be split into four teams for a practice session each, then a scrimmage game tournament with the Kirkness Cup on the line winding up on September 3. Bridge City Bunch alumni Nolan Maier, Rhett Warrener, Frank Banham and Chase Wouters will have their names affiliated with the four training camp teams. All practices and scrimmage games are open to the public with the team’s Locker Room Sale happening on the concourse in conjunction with training camp. The Blue and Gold will open the pre-season on September 6 against the arch-rival Prince Albert Raiders at the Jim Nielsen Sports Complex on the Big River First Nation.
