You can start of the Labour Day weekend with a bang at the Nutrien Fireworks Festival in Saskatoon. Shad Ali from On Purpose Leadership who says the fireworks top off tonight (Fri) and tomorrow night, but there is entertainment beginning at 5 tonight and most of the day tomorrow, right up until the fireworks synchronized with music begin. All of the cultural performances are at the amphitheatre at River Landing, plus there will be pop-up performances at Nasser Plaza and across the river in Rotary Park is the Family Fun Zone.
And, in case you are feeling peckish, food trucks will be everywhere – on the Traffic Bridge, at River Landing and at Rotary Park. The fireworks begin each night at 9:30.
There are traffic restrictions downtown during the festival, so Ali suggests walking, riding your bike or public transit as your best options so you are not having to hunt for parking and end up in a traffic jam at the end of the night. If you prefer to drive, Ali suggests carpooling.
