Driven off the Road
Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP rescued a woman whose minivan ended up in a coulee off High 10 near the Highway 35 turnoff this morning (Mon). Police were told there was another vehicle involved in the incident. The RCMP are looking for witnesses who may have seen what happened or saw the second vehicle, described as a black Chevrolet extended cab or crew cab truck towing an enclosed utility trailer. The truck also had large side mirrors. The driver may not have realized their vehicle collided with the minivan. The accident happened between 7:45 and 7:50 this morning on Highway 10 west of Fort Qu’Appelle.
Counterfeit Money
Lloydminster RCMP have charged two people in a counterfeit investigation. 31 year old Kevin Charles Ross Dewar and 26 year old Danielle Taylor Marie Greer, both of Grand Prairie, Alberta, have been charged with uttering counterfeit money and possession of property obtained by crime. On October 24th, Lloydminster RCMP issued photos of people and vehicles of interest with a cautionary note to area businesses to be vigilant in verifying the money they were receiving as payment. Police say the arrests are a great example of the support they receive in the community because several businesses recognized counterfeit money and the people involved and contact RCMP.
Shooting in Regina
Regina Police are looking for information from the public about a shooting that happened around 6 p.m. on Friday. Officers responded to the 300 block of Retallack Street where a 35 year old man had suffered a gunshot wound to his arm and was taken to hospital. The victim says he’d been walking northbound in a park off the 32 hundred block of Avonhurst Drive when he came across two males coming from the other direction and one of them was pushing a bike. The victim says there was minor physical contact and then a verbal confrontation which is when one of the males pulled a gun and shot the victim.
Graffiti Spree
Five adults are facing 20 counts each of mischief in connection with a graffiti-spree involving numerous properties in Prince Albert last week. Police found themselves responding to multiple complaints from residents across the city last Wednesday. One woman, aged 31 and four men aged 19, 21, 32 and 36, have been charged.
Cocaine Bust
The RCMP Roving Traffic Unit says it netted several arrests and 143 grams of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine after pulling a vehicle over near Maidstone. The RCMP says the vehicle came to their attention on Highway 16 Friday for speeding and an equipment violation. 26 year old Besmellah Bakhshi of Edmonton and 25 year old Miguel Pineda of Regina are facing drug related charges. They were scheduled for court Monday.
