It was a game for young guys – and nerves!
In the end, the Prince Albert Raiders pulled out a 2-1 victory over the Saskatoon Blades in the first W-H-L pre-season contest for both teams at the Jim Neilson Sports Complex at the Big River First Nation.
Saskatoon product Zach Moore scored the opening goal short-handed for the Blue and Gold while Harrison Lodewyk and Doogan Pederson tallied for P-A, who out-shot Saskatoon 30-20. The same teams meet again, with more veteran line-ups expected, on Saturday at the Art Hauser Centre. Following is the official game summary, courtesy the W-H-L, plus post-game comments from the head coaches – Brennan Sonne of the Blades and Jeff Truitt of the Raiders…..
