Fire crews responded to a house fire at 2:40 this morning on Morris Drive in the Massey Place neighbourhood. The Saskatoon Fire Department says first arriving crews reported flames going through the roof. On the main floor, firefighters encountered heavy fire load, making their advancement more challenging. The blaze was brought under control at 3:26 a.m.
Two people, a dog and three snakes were able to get out safely and no one was injured. A Fire Investigator is working on the cause of the fire, which originated on an attached deck at the rear of the home. The damage is estimated at $200,000.
