Saskatoon police say a man confronted and assaulted an officer Tuesday night. Around 10 that evening, Patrol officers were at Avenue U South and 21st Street West attending to a matter and the Police Service reports that an uninvolved man aggressively approached and assaulted a Constable. Following a brief struggle, the man was arrested.

It is believed the 29-year-old was under the influence of an intoxicant or intoxicants and was transported to hospital for a precautionary evaluation before being processed in Detention. He is charged with assaulting a police officer.
