Almost 18 per cent of the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ game roster has been changed up for Friday’s home game against Edmonton, compared to last week’s blow-out loss in Winnipeg.
That’s eight players on and eight coming off! Defensive back Trumaine Washington and offensive lineman Philip Blake will make their 2023 debuts for the Green and White. C-F-L veteran Blake makes his season debut at back-up left guard to Evan Johnson, who returns after missing last week due to injury. Washington comes in in place of Deontai Williams, who was placed on the one-game injured list with a hamstring hurt. Defensive end Pete Robertson returns after a one-game suspension while running back Frankie Hickson, linebacker Justin Herdman-Reed and defensive back Nelson Lokombo also draw back in. Linebacker T-J Brunson and fullback Bruno LaBelle were placed on the one-game I-L. Four other players were moved back to the practice roster. Game time Friday for the 6-6 Riders and the 3-10 Elks is 7:30.
