Just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning a 911 call alerted the fire department to a fire in a partially built duplex.

The call came in from the 100 Block of Tufts Way in Saskatoon’s Brighton neighbourhood.

Arriving fire crews reported smoke and flames showing from the structure and the fire was brought under control by 3:50 a.m.

No one was inside at the time of the fire, and no one was hurt. The Saskatoon Fire Department Fire Investigator has ruled that the fire was deliberately set. The origin of the fire was on the main floor causing $5,000 damage. Saskatoon Police will continue to investigate the fire.
