Saskatchewan’s population increased marginally in the third quarter, rising 0.4 per cent to 1,178,657. Statistics Canada says, at the same time, the province posted its largest quarterly interprovincial migration loss since the early 1990’s with a loss of 3,477 people. Nationally, the country grew by about 208 thousand people in Q3. That was driven mainly by an influx of immigrants and non-permanent residents. It marked the first time that the nation’s population grew by more than 200 thousand in a single quarter. As of October 1st, it’s estimated we had about 37.8 million people living here.
