Regina Police responded to an arson call Monday night and while making an arrest, a nearby garbage bin came alight with fire.

The initial call involved a porta-potty unit in Victoria Park and police located a suspect who matched a witness description in the alley north of Victoria Avenue between Scarth and Hamilton Streets.

Police say officers found bear spray, a machete, and items used for starting fires on his person.

Twenty-one-year-old Blake Machiskinic-Hood of Regina is facing arson, weapons and a mischief charge.
