Maidstone RCMP responded to a collision on Highway 17 south of Onion Lake on Tuesday evening. Investigators determined an SUV hit a deer, then crashed into a car. A 16-year-old boy from Lloydminster who was a passenger in the car was declared dead at the scene by EMS. The driver and passenger in the SUV as well as the driver and two other passengers in the car were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The local detachment and an RCMP collision reconstructionist continue to investigate.
