Charges have been laid against a 29-year-old man in connection with the Tuesday stabbing in Moose Jaw’s downtown.

A man randomly attacked a customer at a downtown business at about 9:11 a.m. on October 3. Police responded and learned that the suspect approached the customer inside the business from behind and stabbed them multiple times in the lower back with what turned out to be a syringe.

The attacker fled the scene but was located and arrested a short time later.  The Moose Jaw Police Service used the business’s security camera to identify the suspect and the weapon that was used.

The man charged with assault with a weapon is Brandon Bluecloud who was remanded into police custody following his first appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Wednesday.  Moose Jaw Police say Bluecloud and the victim are not known to one another.
