Much like most of the regular season, the Hilltops dominated their opponent from start to finish and this afternoon was no different. Even with Winnipeg holding the Toppers off the scoreboard until the last two minutes of a strong first quarter, Saskatoon picked up the pace from that point onward to a 39-1 victory and a perfect 8-and-0 record to finish of the regular season.

Winnipeg started off the game on the right foot holding the Hilltops scoreless until the final two-minutes of the first quarter when Drake Douglas hauled in a pass to give the Toppers an early 7-0 lead. Teijon Abel-Douglas would kick in a 35-yard field goal to extend the lead 10-0 early in the second quarter followed by Boston Davidson rushed in another touchdown in another dominant performance for the star running back. It didn’t get any better for Winnipeg as they gave up a safety on the return and would turn the ball over that would lead to another Abel-Douglas field goal giving Saskatoon a 22-0 lead heading into the half.
The third quarter didn’t see any changes in the score, but quarterback Trey Reider was knocked out of the game with an injury in which he didn’t return. Brexton Elias would replace Reider at quarterback for the remainder of the game, connecting with Jacob Ambros for a fourth quarter touchdown. Matt Wist would also add a Pick-Six in the quarter that seen the Toppers pick off Winnipeg three times. A late field goal would give Saskatoon a 39-1 lead and eventually the victory. The Hilltops enter the playoffs with a perfect record and will host the Calgary Colts next Sunday
