A  28-year-old woman is facing a long list of fraud charges after collecting donations by falsely stating that she had a terminal illness.

Katelyn Marie Ann Carle is accused of defrauding local businesses and residents in a two month period covering December 2021 and January 2022.

Moose Jaw Police state that about $16,ooo was collected by local businesses and residents. Police emphasize that people who assisted in the fundraisers were not complicit with these offences.  Officers are in the process of contact the victims of these offences.

Carle will make her first court appearance December 11th in Moose Jaw.
