Two men have been charged by the Moose Jaw Police Service in relation to illegal possession and trafficking of contraband cigarettes, plus possession of firearms, cocaine and thousands of dollars in cash (pictured).
Forty-six-year-old David Gillis and 55-year-old Byron Glover were arrested after the Moose Jaw Police Service executed a search warrant in the 1100 block of Duffield Crescent in Moose Jaw around 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Police located and seized 110,000 cigarettes, six firearms, more than $52,000 in cash and a small amount of cocaine.
Gillis was released from custody and will appear in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on January 15, 2024 to face charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm, breach of a firearms prohibition order, the unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000, possession of cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking unstamped tobacco and possession of unstamped tobacco. Glover was also released and will appear in court on December 18 to face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking unstamped tobacco and possession of unstamped tobacco.
