A rally organized by concerned citizens in Richmound will be held Saturday afternoon.
The small village in southwest Saskatchewan near the Alberta border has been in the media spotlight since the arrival of the self-proclaimed “queen of Canada” last month. Romano Didulo and her followers have set up shop in a building with the permission of its owner.
RCMP have also established a temporary detachment site to monitor the situation. RCMP announced yesterday (Thursday) that a 59 year old local man has been charged with assault. Local residents claim Didulo’s followers have made threats against those who have expressed opposition.
Richmound Mayor Brad Miller will make a statement about safety concerns at 11:30 Saturday morning. The rally of village residents will begin at noon.
