Six more wildland fire management staff from Saskatchewan are heading to New South Wales, Australia. The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency says they will be there for 38 days, joining 24 other members of the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre Team. This is the second deployment of Canadians to Australia in the last three weeks; 21 firefighters were sent on December 3rd. Two of those were from Saskatchewan. Australian firefighters have been on the ground in Canada four times since 2015. Bush fires along the east coast of Australia are challenging fire crews there. There have been fatalities, property loss and the destruction of large areas of New South Wales and Queensland after a sever and early start to the fire season.
