The PAC was a packed house for the home opener for both Men and Women Volleyball teams as they each welcomed the Brandon Bobcats into the Bridge City. The Men’s team went the distance, defeating them in 5 Sets where the Women had a clean sweep in 3 Sets.

The first game saw the Men’s team in action against Brandon in a thrilling back-and-forth game. The first set started off slow for both teams with Saskatchewan finally pulling away to grab a 25-18 victory. The second set seen Brandon begin to pick up their game and responded with a solid 25-19 victory. The Huskies would then trade places in the score, serving Brandon a 25-19 set win and a 2-1 lead, but Brandon would fight until the very end forcing a fifth set with a 25-17 win. It all came down to the final and deciding set, and the Huskies strong start would propel them to a 15-12 set victory and taking the game 3-2.
As for the women, they put on a dominant performance with a 3 set sweep against Brandon. The Huskies would jump out to an early lead in the first set and would not look back taking it 25-15. The second set was the closest for Brandon as they jumped out to an early lead, but the Huskies would fight their way back to not only tie the game, but jump ahead and win the set 25-18 after being down 17-12. Saskatchewan carried that momentum into the third set jumping out to an early lead once again and not slowing down en route to a 25-15 victory and the 3 set sweep to start off the season on a high note.
