A school bus was involved in one of more than two dozen early morning accidents in Saskatoon. The accident happened at Forrester Road and Pendygrasse Road. There were youth on the bus at the time of the collision. Police say no injuries were reported.
Saskatoon Police responded to 19 accidents between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Tuesday as motorists made the adjustment to winter driving.
The police service is reminding motorists to adjust their driving habits to winter road conditions. Regina Police say they responded to four accidents between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m.
The City of Saskatoon says overnight city crews applied de-icer to high-speed streets like Circle Drive and freeways. That work continues today and while plows haven’t been out the City says they are at the ready for plowing and snow grading if the snow accumulates.
Monday in Alberta, nine students, two teachers and a driver were involved in a school bus rollover in the Didsbury area. A news release from the RCMP says a Didsbury officer came across the rollover on Highway 2A. Five people from the bus were transported to various hospitals by ambulance for a range of injuries, some considered serious, but not life threatening.
The first winter wallop is expected to move eastward out of Saskatchewan through the afternoon Tuesday.
