The Saskatchewan Health Authority has issued a call for tenders to construct a 72-bed long-term care home in Meadow Lake to replace the 55-bed Northland Pioneers Lodge.
Meadow Lake MLA, Jeremy Harrison says the project demonstrates the province’s longstanding commitment as the facility is the last of the 13 long-term care home replacements the government announced in 2009.
Derek Miller, Executive Director of Infrastructure Management with the Saskatchewan Health Authority says residents and their families along with staff at the new home will experience a more comfortable and modern environment.
The tender closes on January 30th with construction expected to begin early in the new year with completion in the fall of 2021.
