Cold weather and the holidays can bring out the best in people. Around Saskatoon right now there are a couple of visible initiatives taking place to help the less fortunate.
You may see scarves wrapped around light posts and poles but if you get up close it will have a tag that says “I am not lost.” The Saskatoon Police Service Victim Services team has put the scarves out for anyone who may need one on Saskatoon’s cold winter days.
And volunteers from Village Green Thrift Shops, which supports the works of the Mennonite Central Committee, have been seen around the city attaching winter coats to poles and light posts, again for anyone who may need it during Saskatchewan’s cold winter.
