Over 17 years ago, in July of 2006, the victim of a shooting in Saskatoon, 31-year-old Darren Fredrick Greschuk, died in hospital from his injury. A 48-year-old man from British Columbia has now been charged with second degree murder and a 45-year-old Saskatoon man, with manslaughter.
On July 8th of 2006, Greschuk called 911 after being shot by someone he didn’t know in his own home. A news release from Saskatoon Police says he and his wife had been sleeping in their home on Avenue J South when a man with a gun entered and demanded money. His wife managed to escape and hid until police arrived. Greschuk died 17 days later.
The 48-year-old man from B.C. was arrested last week with assistance from Penticton RCMP. He has since been transported to Saskatchewan. The 45-year-old from Saskatoon was arrested on Monday and both appeared in provincial court this morning.
