Seven different players scored the goals and 13 of 18 skaters hit the scoresheet as the Saskatoon Blades trimmed the Raiders 7-2 in Prince Albert Thursday night.
The victory ended a three-game losing streak for the Bridge City Bunch and gave Dan Da Silva (pictured) his first win as a W-H-L head coach in his first game as bench boss. Da Silva is taking over from Brennan Sonne, who is an assistant coach with Team Canada-White at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Prince Edward Island. The Blue and Gold scored the game’s final five goals, breaking a 2-2 tie with less than five minutes to go in the second period to improve their record to 9-5-0. Hudson Kibblewhite, Easton Armstrong, Lukas Hansen, Egor Sidorov, Tanner Molendyk, Ben Saunderson and Brandon Lisowsky tallied for the Blades as they out-shot P-A 33-26. Sidorov, Molendyk, Saunderson and Lisowsky each added an assist for two point nights while Jordan Keller and Charlie Wright each chipped in a pair of helpers. Ryder Ritchie and Brayden Dube replied for the Raiders, now 9-6-1 for the season. Prince Albert had won 4-1 in Regina on Wednesday. Saskatoon is back at it Friday night against B-C Division-leading Prince George at SaskTel Centre.
