NDP leader Carla Beck points to a public contract indicating a cost of $765,000 to secure a spot at the COP28 conference from November 30th through December 12th in the Middle Eastern country.
The number does not include the cost of flights, meals, hotels and other expenses. The Saskatchewan government has yet to disclose details about the delegation and what the final cost will be.
Beck says those additional expenses could put the total at $1-million of direct or indirect costs, which would be an average of $61,000 per day.
