Tomorrow is Christmas Day, and SaskTel expects to handle a lot of calls, video messages and texts. The phone company’s Tim Jones says interestingly, more people are leaning away from messaging in favour of voice calls which, he says, are making something of a comeback. SaskTel is expecting about a 38 per cent rise in voice calls. He’s expecting more than 1.8 million calls placed and 1.3 million calls received, and over 24 million text messages to be sent. And he suggests to avoid intense data usage, make sure you’re on WiFi when you call using messenger.
