Blades Acquire Blueline Depth With Herman From Regina

The Saskatoon Blades addressed a need Thursday by acquiring 18-year-old defenceman Carter Herman from Regina for a seventh round choice in the 2026 Prospects Draft.

Herman is a Swift Current product who has played in 37 career games for the Pats. The Bridge City Bunch had been using 16-year-old affiliate blue-liners Jordan Martin and Isaac Poll when the need arose. Nov. 16th: Blades acquire burly defence Herman from Pats

Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatoon Blades are pleased to announce the acquisition of 6-foot-3 defenceman Carter Herman from the Regina Pats in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick.

“With Jordan Martin’s return to U18, we needed to add depth to our blue line,” said Blades general manager Colin Priestner, “Carter is a smooth skating, big body defender who will have a chance to get integrated with our group this week before the U.S. road trip.”

Herman, born in Swift Current, SK, was drafted by the Pats in the fourth round, 71^stoverall in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft. The 18-year-old blueliner has one assist through 37 career WHL games, and dressed in two playoff games last year with Regina.

The Blades want to welcome the Herman family to the organization and look forward to working with Carter on achieving his goals in hockey.
