Did you know there are cheaper days of the week on which to buy fuel?
Gasbuddy.com analyzed the data from their app between January 1st 2019 and December 3rd and found that Tuesday in Saskatchewan is the best day to buy gas in terms of lowest prices and Monday is the most expensive.
GasBuddy.com’s Patrick DeHaan says Canadians tend to fill up every week or so and buying on the cheapest day of the week can bring expenses down.
The province with the highest average prices for the year is British Columbia at 132.4 cents per litre while the province with the lowest average price is Alberta at 108.4 cents a litre.
GasBuddy.com has a few tips on how you can save on what you spend on gas for instance travelling in poor winter weather. The organization says fuel efficiency can decrease by as much as 35% in sub-standard road conditions which include snow, rain, salt and sang. And the faster you drive, the more fuel you use. Driving 100 km/h versus 120 km/h will reduce fuel consumption by about 15%.
