Lloydminster RCMP responded to a serious accident just outside of that city Tuesday. Police say an eastbound pickup truck hit a parked tow truck’s ramp, sending the truck into the air, then hitting the cab of the tow truck.

The tow truck had been responding to a service call and had its ramp down with the emergency lights on.

The driver of the tow truck was taken to Lloydminster Hospital and then air lifted to Edmonton with serious injuries. The driver of the pickup truck had minor injuries which were treated on scene. RCMP continue to investigate, but report that it doesn’t appear that alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident.
