Prince Albert RCMP are investigating the death of a 19 year old man. Officers were alerted about an assault just after midnight on Boxing Day. Upon arriving at the Wahpeton Dakota Nation Health Centre, a 17 year old girl was found with injuries reportedly from an assault. Police then arrived at the home where the assault allegedly occurred and found Zellall Highway suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the local clinic, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators identified a suspect who was arrested at a nearby home. He too had injuries and was transported by ambulance to hospital in Prince Albert. The girl was also transported to hospital by ambulance.

Nathan Waditaka is facing charges that include 2nd degree murder, aggravated assault, and sexual assault. He appears in court on Monday morning.
