If a young person in your family took the Young Worker Readiness Course, their personal information may have been compromised.
On December 4th the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety was informed of an unauthorized breach of information within the course application which is hosted externally by a third party.
Because it it not integrated with Government of Saskatchewan networks, no provincial systems were impacted.
The initial investigation hasn’t revealed evidence of personal information being compromised. The information that would have been provided by those applying between July 5, 2021, and December 4, 2023, may include: Name of individual taking the course; City/Town the individual is located; Email address; Indigenous Identity (not a mandatory field); School (if they indicate they are taking the course at a school); Age of individual taking the course. In Saskatchewan, the YWRCC is required for 14- or 15-year-olds to be able to work.
The investigation continues to provide additional methods of increasing site security.
