The Saskatoon Police Service says a 40-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after an accident on Circle Drive Monday morning.
It was a single vehicle accident around 4:30 a.m. involving a half ton truck that was badly damaged.
Vehicles were backed up with reports coming in from drivers that the backlog included a long line of semis after traffic was reduced to one lane in the southbound lanes of Circle Drive adjacent to the 11th Street off ramp. The situation was compounded by the location which involves four opportunities for vehicles to merge onto Circle Drive south in a stretch of freeway between Laurier Drive and the Valley Road turn off.
