A 15 year old is facing several charges following an incident in a downtown shopping centre on First Avenue South.

Just after 7 o’clock on Tuesday evening, a Loss Prevention Officer recognized a person who had been banned from the facility among a group of other people. While escorting them out of the vicinity, the Loss Prevention Officer was assaulted with a pocket knife.

The suspect fled on foot, but was quickly caught by security guards. The Loss Prevention Officer had minor injuries.

The teenager is charged with assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, breach of an undertaking and breach of probation.  There were also two outstanding arrest warrants.
