The Saskatoon Police Guns and Gangs Unit reports that a 25-year-old woman and 29-year-old man, both from Saskatoon, are facing more charges after initially being arrested and charged on Tuesday.
Officers responded Tuesday afternoon to a weapons call and found two people who were reported to be in possession of a firearm, attempting to leave in a cab. They were arrested without incident, and from a search, a modified and loaded gun, prepackaged Fentanyl, multiple containers of pills, over $3,000 cash and other items consistent with drug trafficking were seized. Their charges included trafficking, drug possession and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.
Then yesterday (Wed), a search warrant was executed at an address in the 500 block of Avenue I South. From that search, police say a loaded .22 calibre sawed-off firearm, various rounds of ammunition and a high-capacity magazine were seized. The two are now facing more weapons-related charges.
